Graduate Degrees

The School of Computer Engineering offers high quality PhD and Master’s degrees deeply involved with its different research units in various fields of Computer Science and Engineering. For both PhD and Master’s degrees, our school proposes four specialties:
Graduate Degrees Program

PhD Degree Admission Criteria:
The applicant must
  • Be in possession of a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Be qualified in the competitive National Entrance Exam.
  • Convince the corresponding academic board in the interview. In this regard, previous research experience, grades and rankings for previous degrees, and recommendation letter(s) are important.
 
PhD Degree Fulfillment Steps:
In order to obtain the PhD degree, the student should perform the following steps:
  • Pass with success 8 graduate courses (24 credits).
  • Be accredited in the Understanding Exam. This exam includes an oral and/or a written test of 3 Master and 2 Bachelor courses in the related fields.
  • Obtain the qualification in English Exam.
  • Defend the PhD proposal in front of a committee consisting of external and  internal referees.
  • Accomplish research in light of the research proposal.
  • Defend the Seminar I and Seminar II in front of internal referees.
  • Accord with the research publication requirements of the program.
  • Getting approval of internal committee in thesis pre-defense.
  • Defend the PhD thesis in front of a committee comprising of internal and external referees.
 
Master’s Degree Admission Criteria:
The applicant must
  • Be in possession of a BSc in Computer Engineering or related programs.
  • Be qualified in the competitive National Entrance Exam (for domestic students) or be admitted based on application form (for international students).
 
Master’s Degree Fulfillment Steps:
In order to obtain the Master’s degree, the student should perform the following steps:
  • Pass with success 8 graduate courses (24 course units).
  • Defend the Master seminar in front of the internal committee.
  • Getting approval for the proposal of Master thesis.
  • Accomplish research and obtain outcomes related to the approved proposal.
  • Defend the Master thesis in front of a committee comprising of internal and external referees.
